About the Artist

Thomas P. Dupell - Tom has been working with wood since 1993, he opened his own workshop at his home in Canterbury, NH in 2000. In his shop he handcrafts fine Shaker Oval Boxes and Custom Furniture. At the Canterbury Box Shop each oval box and furniture piece is handcrafted with quality woods, utilizing traditional and modern techniques with a careful focus on quality and practicality.

      Tom draws inspiration from the work ethic of the Shaker community and one of  their philosophies. "Do all your work as if you had a thousand years to live, and as you would if you knew you must die tomorrow."

      His passion is to create work that has a timeless feel and is intended to be used for a lifetime.
